PROFILE

FSM-Engineering (previously referred to as "Modern Professional Engineering") is a Tallahassee based Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection consulting engineering firm. FSM Engineering has been providing full service consulting engineering for construction projects since February 2010. Our project experience includes new construction and renovation of a wide range of building types including data centers, offices, retail, restaurants, student housing, public K-12, and secondary education facilities.

STEWARDSHIP

Our design practice places emphasis on stewardship, whether of our natural and energy resources, or financial resources. With energy modeling and accurate budgeting based on real project experience, FSM Engineering is able to guide projects to meet performance goals while budgets are met. Working closely with architects, we are able to provide valuable performance estimation on not only mechanical systems, but architectural features as well, so that the entire building is optimized to meet energy performance goals.

Our Engineering Management Personnel:

Robert Gelhardt was born and raised in Tallahassee and a Graduate of University of Central Florida. Even though his alma mater is the Golden Knights he will tell you that he bleeds Garnet and Gold. He joined FSM Engineering ("Modern Professional Engineering") in April 2013 and has since proven to be a valuable addition to the team. Robert became involved in HVAC while majoring in mechanical engineering at UCF.  As a part time graduate engineer at CHPA in Maitland Florida he decided Mechanical Consulting was his calling. He went on to found the ASHRAE student chapter at the University of Central Florida. Since then he has gained over 10 years experience in the design, specification, and management of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection engineering projects.  Throughout his experience he has had over 30,000 hours of CAD and Modeling work. He has done building energy modeling for many LEED certified projects. He has performed Life Cycle cost analysis, Construction Cost Estimates and Engineering Studies. There is no engineering task that he cannot handle. While employed with H2 Engineering and TLC, he held various roles in major construction projects for DMS, FSU, FAMU, TMH among others. He has been with FSM Engineering (FSME) since 2013. He is a main contributor to the production team. He is directly involved with every project that is produced through the firm.
